Flu Shots in Lyndhurst, NJ

Every year a new vaccination for the flu is released to the public as the influenza virus is constantly mutating. It is recommended that everyone over the age of 6 months have a flu shot once a year. Having an annual routine will prevent the potential of contracting the virus and leading to more serious complications. If you do contract the flu even after getting a shot, your symptoms will be less severe.

How does the flu shot work?

A flu vaccination works by creating antibodies that begin to appear 1-2 weeks after the vaccination is administered. These antibodies help fight against the infection with the viruses that are associated with the vaccination. With the flu season occurring between the months of October to May, we recommend you are vaccinated sometime during those 8 months. It is best to get vaccinated each year to protect you for the duration of flu season.
